Lakefront Camping at Elm Hill RV Resort in Nashville

Since we are spending the entire summer of 2025 in Wyoming just outside Grand Teton National Park, we had to make the long drive from North Georgia to Moran, Wyoming. And when I say long drive, it was a LONG drive… approximately 28 hours. Our first stop on our 7 day trip was at Elm Hill RV Resort in Nashville.

Spoiler alert: the views of Percy Priest Lake from our campsite were absolutely breathtaking.

This campground has so many positives to offer that, even with it raining during most of our stay, we would still highly recommend Elm Hill RV Resort.

First Impressions of Elm Hill RV Resort

The resort was easy to find as the GPS took us directly to the entrance. Our confirmation email did mention to make sure you use the correct entrance as there is also Elm Hill Marina which does not connect to the RV Resort.

Elm Hill RV Resort Check In Process

Upon arrival, there is space for you to park near the gates so you can go inside to check in. The entire process was easy and all of the staff were really friendly.

They will provide you with a map, codes for the gate and bathhouses, and WiFi password. They also provide a hangtag for your vehicle and the list of resort policies.

Elm Hill RV Resort Map

Elm Hill RV Resort has 126 RV sites that are a mixture of daily and long-term guests.

We only stayed for 1 night but talked to many campers who were there for anywhere from a week to a month to 6 months. Everyone we met was very nice.

Elm Hill RV Resort Layout

The vast majority of the campground has one-way roads so navigation is pretty simple. The resort has 126 RV sites that are a mixture of daily and long-term guests.

While the map might make it seem like there is not much space other than RV sites, that couldn’t be further from the truth. This park has a lot of green space and community space throughout.

The Sites at Elm Hill RV Resort

If you have been to enough campgrounds, you learn to question when one is labeled as a “resort”. But the sites at Elm Hill RV Resort live up to the name.

They are level, concrete pads have full hookups (FHU) and include both 30 and 50 Amp options. Some sites even have concrete paver extensions for additional vehicle parking.

When you are ready to book, check out the different types of sites. These are based on view, location, and size.

  • Super Site – there are only 2 so you will probably have to book in advance!
  • Deluxe Waterfront – this is what we chose and were so happy we did! Site 15 has a beautiful view of Percy Priest Lake

Elm Hill RV Resort Amenities

This resort lives up to its name with a multitude of amenities; they have everything from a boat ramp and a dock to a pool, playground, and dog park.

Pool and Pavilion

This one speaks for itself. The campground has a fenced in pool and kiddy pool with an attached pavilion. It is the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon.

According to the policies sheet they provided upon check-in, the pool is open seasonally from 8am – 8pm unless there is a band. Then, the pool is open until 10pm.

Boat Ramp, Dock, and Beach

Do you like to play on the water and have your own boat? Bring it with you to Elm Hill RV Resort!

There is a boat ramp on site with adequate trailer parking. There is also a dock in the campground that guests are allowed to use during their stay.

Elm Hill RV Resort also has a small sandy beach area that is the perfect launching location for kayaks and paddle boards.

Bathhouse and Laundry

The bathrooms and laundry facilities at Elm Hill RV Resort are easy to access but can be a little distance away from some RV sites. While they were clean, they do not quite live up to the standard I would expect from an RV Resort.

If you want to check out an elegant bathroom in a campground, take a look at Hilton Head National RV Resort.

Pavilions & Picnic Areas

Elm Hill RV Resort has a significant amount of green space, picnic tables, and covered pavilions throughout the campground.

While the sites are often close together, the open areas are a wonderful way to appreciate the outdoors and Percy Priest Lake.

Garbage Pick Up

The resort offers daily trash pickup at 9am. You can simply leave bagged trash at the edge of your site close to the road and the staff will dispose of it for you.

If you have more trash or want to dump it at another time, there are dumpsters in several locations.

Dog Park

This was a huge plus for us!

Coco enjoyed her time in the dog park – running, sniffing, and chasing a toy.

The dog park is also conveniently located away from the campsites in case you have concerns of smells or noises.

Weekend Entertainment

We were on-site on a Thursday in early May and there were not any entertainers during our visit. However, we talked to some of the extended-stay guests who said there are often bands or other fun events throughout the summer.

The Downsides of Elm Hill RV Resort

No RV park, campground, or resort is perfect and, even though we don’t like to complain, we can usually list several things that are not great.

But not here… it was hard to come up with many negatives about Elm Hill RV Resort!

Sites are Close Together

Because of the site we chose, this was not an issue for us but many of the sites are extremely close to each other. We highly recommend checking out the site map when booking and consider paying the lock fee to get the exact site you want.

Another downside of this is that it can make backing into your site difficult. Just remember – take your time and have a spotter or two or three if it will help. Most RVers are more than willing to help out. If not, the staff would be willing.

These sites are tight but no where near what we experienced at Ozarks Landing RV Resort! 😬

Sites Can Be Expensive

The cost, especially for an extended vacation, can be pricy. Honestly, we believe that is typical for most campgrounds in Nashville during peak season. And at least you have direct lake access here.

Nearby Attractions

Unfortunately we were not in Nashville long during this trip since we were headed on a long drive to Wyoming, but here are some nearby things you should check out while in the area.

Nashville Shores Water Park

Looking for something fun for the whole family to do? Check out this water park on Percy Priest Lake.

Yes, it is a water park but they have more to do than just slides and pools. There is a zip line and ropes course too!

J Percy Priest Dam

We drove down below the J Percy Priest Dam and explored with Coco. They have a dog park and walking trail as well as areas for fishing.

We also visited several public parks on the water and saw many people fishing and picnicking.

Shipwreck Cove

Shipwreck Cove is a bar and grill located on the water in Elm Hill Marina. Yes, you read that right! It is located nearby and is the perfect place to unwind while on vacation.

If you are looking for an RV park or campground in Nashville, check out Elm Hill RV Resort. Even with rain during the majority of our time there, we absolutely loved this location.

We even facetimed several of our friends and family who said they will be planning a trip here because of what we showed them.

Seriously… go book a site now. You won’t regret it! Well, we might regret it if you all book site 15 and we can never get it again…
